He suggested that the only solution was to replace the sewer line, claiming it might be cracked and preventing the cable from reaching the clog. My wife then reminded me that I had cleaned drains for years in my father's building and had all the necessary equipment. I decided to give it a shot, opened a small section of the wall to see how the plumbing ran behind the kitchen, and realized the technician had been snaking in the wrong direction. Using my own equipment, I cleared the drain, and since then, we've never had a clog again.
